Is there a benefit to having a double major?

What major would benefit me most?

  • I want to become a child psychologist in the far future. I'm currently in my second semester of my Junior year already closing to an end. I've done some extensive research for my undergraduate but can't seem to find which major would benefit me most for my future career plans. I was thinking majoring in Psychology, but then there's Child and Adolescent Development. Which would benefit me more for when I go to graduate school?

  • Answer:

I would go with a degree in psychology with a focus on child psychology, or major in psychology and minor in Child and Adolescent development. I'd suggest talking with your adviser to get some more ideas.

Psychology, its a broad topic in U.G. and when you go on to Get your masters and PhD. You can make it much more specific, you could, if you really wanted to specialize in 2 sub fields. if you found another subject you really liked. Overall CAD is too limiting and would restrict your Grad School options. I think.
