How can I get driving experience?

How do I get a truck driving job without any recent experience?

• I got my CDL about three years ago, when I was 20 years old. Didn't realize that it would be almost impossible getting a job unless you are over 23. Now that I am 23 I don't know where to start looking. Everywhere that I look you need to have recently graduated from driving school to be considered. Anybody have any ideas on what I could do?

  Back in the 1960's a guy named Joseph Heller wrote a book called "Catch 22" You have stumbled across a modern day version of that problem... You can't get a job without experience and you can't get experience without a job. If I were you, I'd write up a resume and start sending it out to every trucking company you can find. Then start calling trucking company recruiters. I can't guarantee you'll find a job, but if you don't ask, you'll never get. Good Luck!
