Need help with my Guitar/Amp?

  • Hi. I'm a beginner to Guitars and I want to play Metal/Hard rock songs. My budget is about $400-$500 and I feel ibanez RG350EX is a good guitar. Now my questions: 1- Do you think that's a good beginner guitar? 2- Might sounds stupid, but it seems this guitar is kinda old. Are there new ones available to buy? 3- What would be a good Amp with that guitar?

    Yeah, I think it is a very good choice considering where your interest lies. Not sure what you mean by "kinda old". If you mean the body style then it's just a Strat body like half of the guitars in the world. As a new player just practicing at home I would go for the Roland Micro Cube amp ($129). You'll find that trying to buy something that you can practice on and still use to jam with others later is almost impossible. You need a practice amp now and a bigger amp also once you are good enough to start playing with others.
