I hate my job now what should I do?

I really hate my Canvassing job, what should I do?

  • My friend's Dad gave me a job canvassing for his business as I was really struggling to find work. I really appreciate the gesture and was willing to give it a go. Today is my third day and I'm just dreading it. The past two days I have started 7am and not finished till 7:30pm (starting a little later today). The pay is awful. It does get better once you start getting leads but I'm still in training. I'm quite a socially anxious person anyway, so this sort of job is my idea of hell. I just find it awkward and nerve-wracking. Not to mention I'm walking around all-day, my legs are killing and I'm just so tired already. I don't think I'll make it to Friday. I also don't really get on with the people I work with. I just hate this job so much. And I understand the concept of "Any job is a good job" and "If there's money involved", but seriously, the pay is shocking considering the hours I'm putting into it. What should I do? Is there anything you do at work to make it a bit more bearable?

I believe in God, and He has given me a job which I enjoy. I believe He will do the same for you, if you pray to Him. Some people from my church say they feel happier once others have prayed with them. You could think about what sort of things you enjoy doing or are qualified to do, and apply for jobs based on that. Good luck.

QUIT. Canvassing is the worst job ever. No one would blame you for sacking it in. I went for a interview and had to go round with them for a day, like 9am-9-30pm, I didn't even get paid! Then they turned round to me and said I had got the job and I just replied "nah its alright I don't want it" Honestly I'd rather be unemployed.

Just quit. Unless you desperately need money, just forget about it. Canvassing IS indeed one of the worst freaking jobs out there. I'd rather work at a Starbucks as a barista than work as a canvasser collecting signatures all day.
