How to create many gmail id with a single gmail account?

one of my friend has made 12 gmail id with a single id. How did he do that? he is not telling about this.. suppose his id is, [email protected] now he has created ids like, [email protected], [email protected].. with his original gmail id. when he created these mail ids every confirmation mails goto to " level" option of gmail system. Please help me. How can I open many ids from a single gmail id? thanks

Answer:
You must go into settings and then you will see your email "[email protected]" then under it a blue link that says "Add another email address you own" you can click on that then a mini screen will pop up and you will see your name then another bar to add another gmail account or id.
