How to write a critical essay on a poem?

It might also be helpful to find out if the author herself says anything about this poem. Was there something specific going on her life when she wrote it? Who do you think this poem is about?? You should try to analyze one aspect for yourself, write a thesis about your view, then use potions of the poem to support that thesis.
