• We are considering homeschooling and are focusing on iGCSE's. I was wondering if anyone knew any useful websites that provide iGCSE courses that included coursework and a tutor? Thankyou!

  According to wikipedia..."The IGCSE is predominantly exam-based, meaning they are not actual certified "courses", but rather exams that test knowledge in individual subjects in the same way as Advanced Placement exams and SAT Subject Tests...Its academic worth is comparable to many Secondary School curricula worldwide, such as England's GCSE, the American GED or High school diploma..." Other than the above, I am unfamiliar with IGCSEs. I am, however, familiar with homeschooling. Typically, your parents would be the ones in charge of your education. However, if you are at the high school level, you can pretty much work independently. My homeschooled high schoolers were mostly independant in their studies, choosing their subjects and setting their own schedules (with my oversight). There is so much available in the way of materials and curriculuum. Tutors should not be necessary. We never used one. We did, though, do a few co-ops, where other homeschooling parents who may be more knowledgable in a subject or field would help teach a course or lesson.
