How do you become an actress?

How do I become an actress with no experience? & I'm only 13.?

  • My major dream is to be a successful actress & singer. I don't wanna be famous but I want to be an inspiration to others, plus I also have interest in acting & singing. But.. The problem is that, I have no such experience and lack of confidence. I'm 13 this year (2012), and I'm from Malaysia. I'm Chinese+Malaysian. Fair skin, black hair, average height & weight. Speaks English fluently. I know how extremely tough it is to get into this type of entertainment industry, and age is actually one of my biggest fear of why I think I won't make it. I never took acting/ singing classes before, nor ever performed on stage, etc. That's because I'm lack of confidence. I'm afraid, but I'm currently trying to face my fears and work harder. I was thinking that I wanna move to LA to achieve my dreams, but too scared to tell my parents. Though they always support me but I'm just scared.. Scared if they didn't agree on what I want to be. Anyway, I took piano lessons (even though this doesn't count) when I was four but stopped at the age of ten. When I was nine, I actually wanted to stop my studies and be an actress & singer but I just couldn't tell my parents. I was worried, scared of what they would answer. Yes? No? Never? So now I'm 13, it's been five years since that happened and now it's coming back again. What I wanted to do back five years ago. And this time, I'm not playing around cause I know that I can do this and I believe in this dream more than I pretty much have believed in anything else in my life. Look, this is not a joke. I'm sure I'll succeed. But I just need help. Please? I know there are lots of people out there who wants to be an actress/ singer. I know, I know. We're all fighting for the spot. But I'll never give up until I get to the top. I need help. Advises. Tips. Every information that you know. What does it need/ take to be a successful actress & singer? How to gain confidence? How to be an actress? How to be a singer? (optional.) Where do people audition for acting roles, etc? What are the top 10 agencies? (pros.) Where/ How do you find an agent? (Lol, I don't know if this makes any sense.) When auditioning, what do you usually have to do? Is it okay if I audition for, like, Disney or something? Will I have a chance? Please help? This is my biggest dream ever. :( Thank you in advance. Tips, advises, warning, everything. Just tell me.

Well, first of all you really have to get into a really good acting class, attend at least once a week, and keep that up for a couple of years. You'll also need singing and dance lessons. Then you'd need to get lots of stage experience. Don't stop school studies, though. Actors need to have a great general education. As for all your questions - until you've had all that training and got all that experience, you just don't need to know about agents and auditions. Ask about that again in a couple of years!
