Did I say the wrong thing?

Do you occasionally say the mean thing/ give a stressful question to test others? Is it wrong?

  • Say you are nice to everyone most of the time and then you say one rotten thing to test them. Do you think it's wrong? I think it's a great way to find out how a person deals with stress. I sometimes give a silly question (that only an inflexible person would say) to make some people stressed. A guy was telling me about his fascination about the heart and I fired back "so do you want to be a cardio-thoracic surgeon?" to see how he would react. He giggled and he took it in good humour however I have met people who take it personally. I find it useful to weave out bad company. Do you think this is wrong? Why? State your gender :P

    Haha yes I have been like this.... and like Sam, occasionally still do it. Also normally to people I don't know too well. Feels so out of control sometimes, like my rebellious side takes over URGING me to say something rotten, or just ridiculous. And it's like I have to or I'm completely unsatisfied. I don't know if its for entertainment, to test/see their reaction, or sometimes I just subconsciously don't want to be talking to them anyway.

i am a male and what you are decribing is pretty much my "character" people who know me, know me to be kind respectful and open minded about all subjects. but sometimes when im around new people and even on yahoo i act like acomplete bigot just because i am amuzed by other peoples reactions to the things i say.

I used to do that. Nowadays, I just let time reveal their character. I always give people the benefit though.

I don't care how other people deal with stress, so no. I only do that as a joke or if I feel challenged by that person.
