What type of bond exists between atoms?

What type of bond is formed between two electrically charged atoms?

  • Simple scientific answer please

  • Answer:

If they're electrically charged, rather than neutral, then they are ions. Then I'd expect an ionic bond to form. For example if water is supersaturated with positive sodium and negative chlorine ions then they may bond together to precipitate sodium chloride (salt). There is no molecular bond that is 100% ionic, though; they are all at least partially covalent.
