How would a canal help farmers grow more wheat?

Farmers in certain areas of the u.s can grow either wheat or corn, If the price of corn increases the :?

  • a supply of wheat will shift to the right. b supply of wheat will shift to the left c supply of both corn and wheat will shift , but in opposite directions d supply of corn will shift to the right

  • Answer:

If the price of corn increases more people will grow it, as it is more likely to be profitable. I am going to assume this is an exam question as such, the graph will be set out in the standard supply/demand format. I would say: The price rise might have been prompted by a lack of supply, so more people will begin to grow it,there will be then a greater supply of corn, and a smaller supply of wheat (assuming some wheat growers switch production) As I cannot see a link to a graph, it will be difficult to go into any more specifics. Try rephrasing the question, or providing additional detail.
