Why did all my answers get deleted?

Why do Yahoo Answers get deleted by someone other than the asker?

  • particularly if its not obvious to the asker or others the reason why, i mean could the reason be subjective at all? thanks.

    Without seeing your question or answer I can only guess. Questions and associated answers are deleted for any of these reasons: ✔ There was no answer after 4 days. ✔ "No best answer" won the vote. ✔ The best answer violated the community guidelines. ✔ The question violated the community guidelines. ✔ The asker deleted it within the first 4 days. The violation system works as follows. If multiple people report a question or answer it is removed. It is then up to you to prove to Yahoo that you did not violate any guidelines. There is a link at the bottom of this page to "Community Guidelines". Most question violations are for chatting. That would be any question where the answer could only be of use to the asker or you are specifically asking what an individual thinks or does. "Am I pretty?" "What did you have for dinner?" Giving an answer that does not directly answer the question is also a violation. For example: "The same thing happened to me.", "I agree", "That is a stupid question.", etc. ℬ ℋ

Many users do not post their questions properly and are reported by other users and Yahoo's computer counts up all the reports and when a certain number are reported they are deleted. Your question doesn't make sense to me and I am mixed in my opinion of whether it is a violation or not so I would skip it entirely for those reasons, and the fact that I can't answer it.

The Yahoo statement is that one or more trusted reporters must report a question or answer for it to be deleted. You can appeal and if the appeal is upheld the reporter loses some credibility. It takes a number of violations to get someone suspended, the exact number would vary dependant on the severity of the violations.
