What natural medication?

What is a good natural or over the counter medication that is good at treating depression?

  • I struggle with depression and anxiety and i was wondering if anyone knew of any good either natural suppliments or just any kind of over the counter medication that can help treat me. Does anyone know which ones are good and actually work? My depression and anxiety are becoming overwhelming. please help seriously only.

Hi Sorry to hear that you are feeling like that but no over the counter medication helps. Trust me I've been there and been in hospital a few years because of it but I am very well now and have never been depressed since. The best thing for depression is sports. even if you was to start of jogging for 15- 20 mins a few times a week them build it up to 35mins max. Go to the gym, meet new friends. I noticed that I didn't have any "real" friends and none of them didn't care about me even if I did like being with them to kill time. Keep yourself busy and change your diet as some people has noticed a difference after cutting out junk etc. What I done after was take 5-HTP supplements (5-Hydroxytryptophan ) Omega 6 oils Sport 3 times a week Self Hypnosis CD's Friend new friends (even if they are online to start with) Cut off from any useless negative people (some of them maybe family just keep your distance) Smile everyday. Decide that you will be happy as it's your choice Go and talk to a professional Psychotherapist (even if it's just for a few times) Sex helps too! Also find what is the cause otherwise it could go but you don't want it to come back again. My whole life has turned around and it was better than going on meds which make you worse in some cases and you will put on weight and lose your labido. Hi! I have been suffering with depression, anxiety and social phobia for about 6 years now.. I have been on several different "natural remedies" (St. johns wart for example) and anti-depressants over the years and for me zoloft is working quite well for my anxiety and phobia (better than the others anyway) The thing with anti-depressants is ..they work depending on the person. You may be on several different things before you find the right one for you. I would NOT recommend Xanax or anything like it because it is VERY addictive.. The best thing i could recommend is to see a psychiatrist and be prescribed something if it is becoming too much o deal with.. exercising and a healthy diet may help as well! keep your head up and get well soon!
