How to calm down IBS stomach pain?

Help me please! Quitting celexa cold turkey! Excruciating stomach pain!! please read:(?

  • Hi everyone, I need help I have recently started taking celexa (10mg) for seven days then increased my dosage to 20mg once I increased my dosage to 20mg about 5 days ago I started having a persistent headache, severe excruciating stomach pain, diarreah, and brain fog. I also feel tired. I have IBS which does give me diarrhea when I’m under stress, so ive been taking my other medicine for that, but I believe the celexa is causing me to have this excruciating unbearable stomach pain. My skin feels hot I think I might have a fever though I don’t have a thermometer with me. My symptoms got worse this afternoon, but I called the nurse in the morning and she said to decrease my dosage to 10mg, but honestly my symptoms worsened so now im planning on quitting cold turkey. I am just so scared and worried that I’m going to **** up my stomach even more I am scared that I am going to have withdrawal symptoms if I do quit cold turkey but I don’t want to him the excruciating stomach pain, it feels like somebody is cutting me open Apart from this I feel the physical pain but my mental pain is not really there! Like I feel the pain but I’m calm… I don’t know I just need help, I really want to quit… should I call the nurse tomorrow and tell her that I quit cold turkey.. I have an apt. with my doc on Friday.. also because my stomach pain is so bad.. I was planning on skipping college class tomorrow.. I just feel awful miserable and scared this is the first time I’ve ever been on antidepressants I don’t think celexa is working well for me! Help!

  • Answer:

TO help you i have to confess something i was on celexa for Major depression. about a month ago i tried to overdose on about 15 pills. I HONESTLY believe you may be experiencing overdose symptoms because i overdosed i felt similarly. I had a persistent fever ( yes you probably have fever) AND a migraine and nausea. i know what you mean when you say it felt like somebody is cutting you open. i felt like that i would eat but it wouldn't stay down so i refused to eat because of this and this horrible pain like i was being cut open and honestly get off of the celexa because i ended up doing some research on celexa and it can't kill you but it can drive you into a comma and if your gonna skip class shoot your professor an email to let them know you will be surprised how understanding a professor can be. and I was on Celexa for 2 months before i overdosed and still go to your apt.
