hello, i actually love and have a betta fish this is how i take care of it I change my betta fish tank every Friday, my tank usually stays clean for a week for feeding, i feed my betta fish every other day (3 pellets) it needs a day to digest and get hungry again,remember their stomachs are really tiny and overfeeding them can kill it. Do not put sharp gravel in the tank, check the gravel yourself and see if it is sharp and point, it may harm your betta's fins since they are very delicate. this is how to clean the tank take your fish carefully out of the tank and put it in something like the a jar it came in clean the tank with warm water ( do not use soap ) several times, each time leave the water in for 2 minutes and repeat. clean the gravel thoroughly in warm water to, the same way. then fill the tank up with room temperature water, and add 4 drops of conditioner. wait for 2 hours and so the water it good and then gently let your fish in. betta fish need a soft plant in their tank do not put the tank in direct sulight, this can also kill the fish do not let anyone bang on the tank make sure your tank is closed with breathing holes, because the betta will jump out buy all the items from a proper pet store not some cheap store because the quality is probably cheap and it can also kill the fish make sure you visit it often if you need more help go on this website this is where i got some of this information on and it really helped me http://www.bettafish.com/ http://therealowner.com/fish-aquariums/e%E2%80%A6 http://www.bettatalk.com/ ^very helpful websites, you should visit them they give great advice good luck and i really hope i helped:), plus i wish your betta fish a happy and healthy life

Well Bettas can be aggressive so I suggest put a clear cup next to your fishes tank then put the female inside then the male Betta will see her and get in mating mode then you can drop in the female. They will look like there fighting but there not there doing a mating dance. P.S. Betta's can have up to 150 eggs! Yet the female might eat them c:
