What is Contour Helmet Camera?

I know it sounds stupid. lol. I just don't know why it's called a Helmet camera. Can't you use Contour Cameras on tripods? I want this camera to make video. Please explain? Thanks!

The contour camera is POV (point of view) camera. It has several different mounts, it works best as a helmet cam, it mounts on the side of the helmet. There is also another POV camera that would probably work better for you AND it's cheaper than the Contour, it's the GoPro camera. GoPros also have alot more mounts which I find very helpful.
