How to install Linux OS from my normal PenDrive (FAT32)?

  About a week ago I installed Ubuntu 10.11 on my new Dell laptop- from a disk on key as well. IMPORTANT ! Befor you start the process - make sure you back up all data you had on it since this will delete everything! The OS you download from Linux's website is an ISO file - and you need to "open" that ISO file correctly into the PenDrive (disk on key). To do that , use Universal-USB-Installer-1.8.9.2, that's the one I used : 1) Activate it on another OS/computer (I did it on my stationary computer). 2) Insert the disk on key (at least 2GB are needed on your PenDrive). 3) choose the specific Linux OS from the drop down menu of the software (Ubuntu, Mint, etc. and the version number). 4) choose the detination --> aka the disk on key drive, and press ok / install (I don't remember what word appears). Creating this will take time (my computer finished making the bootable USB drive after an hour and 10 minuts). The next step is to set your computer to boot from the pendrive (and not from the hard drive), this is simple- when a computer is turned on, it shows you (in the first copule of seconds) which key to press and hold in order to go into the Bios menu (usually it will be one of the Fs keys, like F5 for example). Once you are in that manu - chage the order -making the "boot from USB" first. 1) insert the disk on key. 2) restart the computer. After that, Linux OS will be activated and walk you through all the details of installment.
