What does make a good on a first date?

He actually admitted he was a player on our first date. What should I make of that?

• I met this handsome guy last week at a bar. He approached me and was very charming. A few days later he invited me for coffee and out first date. The date overall was great. It was no awkward pauses and I can't remember when I laughed that much. He was very flirty and showed his interest very clearly. But I asked him why he was single. And he said: "To be honest with you. I really do like you and this might bite me in the @ss. But I used to be quite a player. But I haven't been with a girl in over a year. At all actually. A while back I met this girl and I fell in love for real for the first time and when things ended badly between us it broke my heart. I've spent a year getting over her and last weekend I saw you and thought wow she is beautiful and let's give it a shot. And here we are". At least he was honest but I'm a little conservative now. Ok so how do I know he doesn't want to get back in to his old ways and I'm a notch on the ol' belt?

  I guess you don't know that, but you can never know that about any guy (or woman for that matter). Most players don't bother to tell you. He sounds genuine to me. If you're interested, go for it.
