What Technology Is Used In Mechanical Engineering?

Surface Warfare officer, besides Mechanical engineering, what are some Good majors for when I apply to OCS?

  • My School doesnt have an NROTC or a Mechanical engineering but it does have Facilities Engineering Technology, is this good? What about Political Science (an interest of mine)? I will be getting plenty of sea experience (I used to work on a cruise ship and currently work on a coastal dredger and a riverboat)

  • Answer:

For DM-stick to what you know. High GPA with Non-technical major=Navy doesn't care. For the OP: Industrial Engineering should be good, actually. It's not necessarily the SWOs looking for engineering skills anyway.

Any engineering degree, math, physics or chemistry.

Poly Sci? unless you have a 4.0 GPA and extensive leadership roles while in school, it's not going to be favored over any engineering degree. a 3.0 In engineering is more competitive than a 4.0 in Poly Sci
