How to make my teeth stop hurting from braces?

  • I've had braces for about 5 months but yesterday when I went to get them tightened he added two more brackets or braces or whatever to my new K9's that are coming in, and it really hurts. I've taken Tylenol or Acetomatiphen or whatever it's called but it doesn't help. I've done some research and some people said to eat hot foods and some said to eat cold, so im not really sure which one? Anyways I'm really hungry and I haven't eaten anything since yesterday at like 6:00 pm. So what should I do to relieve the pain and what should i eat (hot or cold, some soft food suggestions). and when do you think my teeth will stop hurting? P.S. I'm not having any trouble with pokey wires so I don't need wax, it's just my teeth that kill. Thank you! Best answer gets 10 points

    ive had braces on for over 4 years...and i still have them on. when i get mine tightened, i find eating cold foods help. ice cream helps a lot! mild painkillers like you've already taken, try not to eat anything really hard for a few days. just eat soft foods. hope it feels better soon, braces getting tightened sucks.

I just got my braces off not too long ago and boy was it worth it. Now my once crooked teeth look great! Anyway i know what you are going through. Idk what kind of braces you have but for me they would put bigger wires each time i came in. I'd reccomend something cold to numb the pain. Ice cream might be good. I don't see how something hot would really help. In fact that might make it worse. Good luck with your braces :)
