How do I figure out my College GPA?

  • I attend a jr college. My gpa from last fall was 1.79. I am currently on probation and need a 2.0 for this semester as well as cumulative gpa. I am currently take 13 hours. My grades are as follows: 4 credit hours: D 3 credit hours: D 3 credit hours: D 3 credit hours: A How do I figure out my GPA for this semester? My school doesn't do A+ or anything like that.. Please help me!

    I think its exactly a 2.0 if it's on the same scale as my school.

You need to know the GPA (not the letter grade) for each of your classes for each semester. When you want to know a particular semester's GPA you need to figure the average of your class GPAs. To figure the GPA for a year, you average the GPAs from each semester in that year. And to figure your GPA for your entire college career to date, you average all of your yearly GPAs together (if you haven't finished a year you can just average all of the semesters instead).
