Whats the best choice for radiator fans?

  • Hey wondering if anyone has any expierience with any aftermarket/performance radiator fans. Im needing a new system to cool down the radiator but im lost as to what to get... I think im looking for 2 14 inch fans or one 16 inch fan. (dont think 16's enough tho???) Wiring, fitting, anything other than "whats the best kind" IYO, i have covered. What I dont know tho is if im going to double up and make a push-pull set up. So are there any opinions and whats the difference between straight blade and curved blade? Btw it an 02 monte and i belive i have two 14" ones in there now so I have plenty of room for fitting. Thanks much everyone..

    The electric fans and shroud are the best ones that came on the car. If you're having an overheating issue, when was the lest time the cooling system been drained, flushed and *cleaned? Are the fan blades spinning in the right direction? Curved blades are better inside the standard plastic fan shroud.

Find some RMI25, which is a Special radiator cleaner that can undo the internal damage caused by DEXCOOL! Your heating problem is NOT due to the fans, it is due to coolant SLUDGE< and maybe even broken intake gaskets. B I G lawsuit against GM for this issue covering nearly ALL models from 1996-2003, and MORE! I would NEVER use dexcool again in there (orange not pink) and switch over to Mercedes YELLOW coolant which is good FOREVER!! Try to re-torque your cylinder heads, as a small leak will make the coolant more acidic from combustion acids creeping through small leaks. The factory fans are JUST FINE! If you have a heat problem it is NOT from the fans, it is from something ELSE! GOOD LUCK!
