What is the best hair dye brand for dark hair?

Does dying thin hair ruin it? What brand of hair dye is the best?

• I've never died my hair before and I REALLY want to, but I'm afraid it might dry out my hair or change the texture. I have thin, curly, dry, medium length hair. I want it dark red so there won't be any bleaching. Will it ruin my hair? Should I go to the salon or can I do it at home? Is there any good hair dye that you think is good for hair or doesn't dry it out? What are the best hair dye brands that I could get from the drug store, i don't care about prices.

  It won't change the texture as long as you don't dye it all the time and take good care of your hair. If you don't care about prices, I suggest you just go to a good salon, hairdressers know what they're doing. Ask them to recommend stuff and I suggest dye your hair there, and also ask them tips about taking care of your dyed hair, like using shampoos especially made for color treated hair like Kerastase, etc. :) Good luck!
