I would love to take up modelling as a hobby, where to start?

Modelling has interested me ever since I was a kid, I have always been photogenic. My mum sent pictures to a modelling agency when I was about 11/12 but they was not interested because of my wonky teeth. Now, I am 17. I have long black hair, olive skin, dark brown eyes, big lips, big eyes. The only bad thing is that I am only about 5ft1 in height, which sucks. What type of modelling could I get into? Where to start? Also, what agencies are there who hire small models in Manchester, UK? Like I said, I would only want to make it a hobby as I am not really bothered about making a career out of modelling, I have other interests. Thanks :D

I would try advertising yourself around the local art schools. I'm a photography major, and my friends and I are always looking for inexperienced models who will be willing to accept little or no pay in order to build their portfolio. The only problem is that since you're underage a lot of art students will likely be wary about shooting you, since technically they'd need permission from your parents.

Nobody wants a 'hobby' model - the market is far too competitive. The only thing you are likely to be 'offered' is sleazy 'glamour' modelling of the particularly tasteless type. Stick to more rewarding hobbies!
