When should I call back about a job?

What should i do when an employer says they will call back after a job interview!?

  • So i went a job fair the other day and i was interviewed, i did good because she gave me a card and said they were going to call wednesday or friday. My question is should i still keep waiting for them to call me or should i call them? They said they needed 80 new people because its a new building being built. Someone said i shouldnt and most said i should. What should i say!!! plz HELP!!!!!!

    H-R is there to schmooze you. I've been looking for work for almost four years now, and if I had a dime for every time some bozo said they would call me back I would have a small bundle of dough! If they can't tell you right away you are a fit, don't waste your time or phone minutes. I've even stopped going in person to put in applications because of fuel costs. I do it all on the 'net now, and I still get a big fat zero. I wasted a great deal of time (No big deal) and money on gas (BIG DEAL) putting in apps in person. If they want you, they will find you. If not, just blow them off, consider it their loss, and move on to the next possibly lucky company that will hire you.

I would call and say i am checking on the status of my app not app for your phone but application sorry should have clarified and keep looking because this is not a definite thing building is not ready to house employees don't sit by the phone waiting for their call every employer now a days will give a business card don;t mean to burst your bubble but no harm can come from a call right? good luck

Depending on how long it has been since you spoke with them, you should give them a call. Don't be pushy, just say you want to check up on it. Good luck!!

call them on thursday, the best thing is to just leave a voicemail as a reminder (call them after hours and thats usually when the call goes directly to the voicemail)
