What to expect at a Jimmy Johns interview?

I have a job interview at Jimmy Johns (Sandwich place) tomorrow. Any tips?

  • Hi. I have a job interview tomorrow at Jimmy Johns. I know to dress up but I don't want to ruin the interview. I get nervous easily. Should I ask questions at the end. What do I do to make my self stand out and what should I expect. Please give me any advice you have.

Below are comments plus interview questions shared by people who interviewed at Jimm Johns taken from a great free website called glassdoor.com. Advice: Smile and shake hand when introduced and at the end of the interview. Please check the Jimmy Johns website to respond to "What to you know about JImmy Johns or What is your favorite menu item? look under history on the website: how long been in business, # of stores, who is the CEO, review menu items etc. Good Luck! In-shop at Jimmy John's- Posted Oct 10, 2011— Received and Accepted Offer Interviewed May 2011 (took 2 days) In general, the interview was pretty easy. Most of the questions asked were general "get-to-know-you" questions. The more difficult part of the interview was the sandwich test, in which you are given a couple of days to learn how to make the different sandwiches. You have to know all of the ingredients, the order, the names, and the numbers. It is easy enough if you sit down for a while and study, but it does get rather tedious; some of the sandwiches have a lot. Overall, the interview process was pretty laid back. I was told I got the job right after my sandwich test was graded, and I got started that same week! Delivery Driver at Jimmy John's- Posted Jan 12, 2012 -Received and Accepted Offer Interviewed Sep 2011 in Phoenix, AZ (took 3 days) In August of 2011, my girlfriend's sister bought a Jimmy John's sandwich and said that they had just opened a few weeks ago. I remembered passing by it a few times, so I went by again and noticed a sign up front "Looking for Rock Stars." I went inside to ask for an application and one of the cashiers gave me one. Later, the same day, I returned the application thinking that it would just be another guy to pretend to read it and never call, but to my surprise, the manager ask me to sit down at the eating area to have an interview. We talked about availability and work experience. Before I left, he asked me to come in the next morning, so I did. He gave me a list of all the sandwiches and how to make them. (Yes, even as a Driver, you will pretty much do everything an In-Shop/Food Prep employee will do until a delivery comes up. It's cool if you want to stay busy.) After I memorized the paper, I came in the next day and they talked to me a little about the store, then hired me right there. They asked me to start working right then and there, I found it funny because I think they really needed drivers. The pay was about $5.25 (Under Min. Wage) but you get a crazy load of tips. It's funny how it works: You will always make at least Min. wage working there because they count your tips along with your paycheck, BUT if you don't make enough/or any tips to cover Min. wage, THEN, they add the full Min. wage. I've never heard of that before, but I guess if it works. Interview Questions Do you have any work experience?

maybe you should look up some stuff about jimmy johns. you could find out when it was made, who the first manager was, mention your strong points etc. i would help you more, but i have no idea if you would be running the register, making the subs, cleaning, etc. hope that the little bit of info that i have can help you. i hope you get the job too. by the way, jimmy johns is basically my favorite place for subs ever! GOOD LUCK!!! p.s...for problems with being nervous, find some way to distract yourself, but don't do anything distracting to them. you could tap your foot lightly if you aren't wearing loud shoes. again, good luck.

Ask a question if you have a question. Be friendly and personable, but don't make yourself "standout" too much. They may be afraid you'll be after their job! Just make sure you understand what happens after the interview. Will they contact you either way or should you contact them after a certain number of days. That's what you should know. Good luck! :)

Go in there and be yourself. Don't show your nervous. Ask any questions you can think of. They are very easy going there...at least at the location I worked at. It was the best job I've ever had! Good Luck!
