I am trying to get my adoptive birth certificate?

• i was born in anahiem california and shortly after my birth moved to michigan. i am currently 18 years old. at age 8 i went to foster care after foster care and then when i turned 11 i was adopted, and at age 14 i lost all contact with my adoptive parents. they changed my middle and last name, but never recieved a birth certificate for me. i somehow had my social security card changed to my adoptive name (same first name but different last and middle name then my original birth certificate). i am trying to get a id so i can get a job, go to college, make something of my life. i went to the securtary of state and they couldnt help me because my birth certificate and social security card did not match (my birth certificate is got a different last and middle name then my social security card). in order for me to get a id i need my adoptive birth certificate. please if anyone has any clue of what i can do or if you can guide me in the right direction, please.

  contact dept. social services (DSS) in the city that your adoptive parents lived in, they should be able to help you. They mayi also have papers about your adoption that they can now show you since your an adult. If that doesn't work, try hunting down the 'adoption decree' or the 'adoptive placement agreement' by the placing agency (most like DSS in the city that you were moved into foster care will have this) those docs may show your old and new name on them which will help you when trying to get birth cert. The old DSS office may even have your old ss card too. You may also want to get your passport as a secondary I.D. too.
