American wanting to go to college in England?

  • Im a junior in high school, and I recently went on a trip to england and loved it. I want to go to college there, but i've been struggling with finding a lot of information on how easy is it for americans to go to college in london, what schools to look at, requirements for a visa, etc. I am a average student desperate to attend college here and i need whatever information i can get. I am not interested in studying abroad, but would rather go to college there as i intend of living in the UK sometime soon.

    Nothing to stop you applying for a Student Visa but studying in the UK will be VERY expensive as you have to finance everything yourself. Budget a minimum of $50,000 per year, even more in London. Also ensure that whatever qualifications you get will be recognised in the US as studying in the UK will not help in your quest to live in the UK. At the end of your studies you will have to return home. Then you will discover that work permits for the UK, (Actually the entire EC), are impossible. That's why I don't recommend studying in the UK for US students..

What on earth do you mean by "I am not interested in studying abroad" ? Do you not consider England to be abroad? Just in case you don't know, there is 3000 miles of ocean between the east coast of the USA and England, and if you are living somewhere other than the east coast, it's an even greater distance between you and England. That certainly qualifies as "abroad".
