Can I hook up a subwoofer to my receiver?

How can I hook up my subwoofer wen my receiver has no inputs for it?

  • Hi I have a Sony model str-d360z and a Panasonic sb-as250 power active subwoofer but my receiver has no inputs for it what should I do

  • Answer:

No receiver has an, "input" for a subwoofer. The subwoofer does not send information to the receiver, the receiver sends information to the subwoofer. You can not use just any output from your receiver. You can not use a tape output for example because this output is independent of volume control. You can only use a preamp output but unfortunately these are no longer common. The other alternative would be if your powered subwoofer has speaker level inputs. If it has speaker level inputs you simply connect it in parallel with your main speakers. mk

First, it's an output on the receiver. Use a spare line out. The sub has a built in crossover
