Why won't my DVD work on a DVD player?

Why wont my DVD work in my VCR Player?

  • Hi all, I'm not too great with all this technology balony. But anyway, today I went to Best Buy and baught my self a good ol John Wayne movie on the DVD format. When I tried playing it in my VCR, it snapped my DVD and it wouldnt play it. What is it that I am doing wrong? Ive been pretty confused since they stopped making VHS's. Some kind help would be greatly appreciated! Thankyou!

You got off lucky! When I tried that, smoke came out of my VCR. It stopped working, and I had a heck of a time recapturing all of the smoke in a paper bag. After all that effort, I can't figure out how to put the smoke back into the VCR so it will work again. Not only that, but I have a cassette tape that I want to play, but the spindles on my reel-to-reel tape-deck are too far apart to fit the holes in the cassette shell. What to do? Don't they test out these new formats before flooding the market with them?

Same thing happened to me when I tried to play a CD on my turntable. It didn't hurt the CD much though but it did break my needle. Right after that my 8-Track player ate the CD:-( On top of all that, Best Buy gave me a hard time for parking my horse in their parking lot. mk
