Are high resolution screens easier on the eyes than laptop screens?

I7 ivy Bridge processor and 2 Gb GDDR graphic processor - what sizes of display or resolution is achievable?

I like to buy a top end laptop with the said specs but not sure what I can do with it on multiple screens or what configurations of screens I can have.
