How to design a secure network?

Computer won't connect to secure network?

  • I have a secure network that looks like this...BELL123. My computer connects to it but says that it is not secure (when it is). It says signal strength is good but security type is uncensored. With a picture of a shield with an exclamation point over the bars. Every time I try to connect to my secure network it creates a new network looking like this... BELL123 2. If I try to connect again and put in the right security code it looks like this BELL123 2 3, and so on. I deleted the secure network entirely and created it again and I still have the same problem! SOMEONE PLEASE HELP ME

  • Answer:

see if you can manually put in advanced settings->new wireless network profile or something->put all the info in precisely and try again. should work or contact microsoft. also, try the microsoft forums. lots of good stuff there. google it.

Seems to be some serious incompatibilities here. I can't even get it to work with protection converted off. Windows vista has no up-dates, and the firmware on the router is the newest. I tried concluding off IPv6 as described in another thread, but still nothing. I'd rather not buy another wireless router just to diagnose the issue. MS invested lots of your energy and energy and effort informing individuals that Windows vista is better than XP - and that its very constant, but the simple reality is that this functionality works on every XP device in my home with convenience.
