What's a good laptop for a Georgia Tech Engineering student?

  • I'll be going to Georgia Tech in the fall to major in aerospace engineering and I'm looking for a laptop in the price range of up to about $800-$850, and I'm wondering if there are any suggestions and why for whatever one thinks is a good, reliable, preferably light laptop. I leaning towards either the Sony Vaio, Samsung Series 7, or the Samsung Series 5. I don't plan on doing any gaming on the laptop.

  • Answer:

Get the smallest and lightest and longest battery life. A PC will cost about $1000 less than a Mac. See that you can type on the keyboard and can view the screen. The biggest choice you have is screen size: 13" vs 15". Good luck.
