My laptop keeps shutting down?

My laptop acer 5720z keeps shutting itself off?

  • Ever since i installed a new hard drive which is 320 gb on my acer laptop 5720z intel dual core processor 1.46ghz,I also installed windows 7 from a dvd disk 32 bit, it runs ok but it keeps turning off without warning and says nothing,I think this happens when the fan begins to start up,because when i tuen the laptop on again the fan always starts up ,there is no dust in the grills and i never use the laptop on my knees its on a bench,do anybody know what might be the matter ,it went fine running vesta ,never turned off,Best regards Carol

    When booting the computer press F8. Then you will see boot options. Scroll down and click on do not restart on failure. This will give you a message as to why it's rebooting. You could have bad RAM, bad HD, or you could need an updated driver. You can also trying booting into safe mode with networking and try doing updates to see if that fixes the problem.

Adding to Bows Answer. My laptop experienced similar problems as it turns out the cooling on my laptop wasn't enough and I had to purchase a cooling pad for the bottom. Try Bows answers first then if all else fails get a cooling tray for the laptop.
