How to remove the built in stand on a sony monitor sdm hs95 monitor?

• Anyone know how or if its possible to remove the built in stand for a sony monitor sdm hs95 lcd monitor? It has to be the worst designed stand for a monitor that i have ever seen. I use a different mount for it using the optional mounting screws. Up until now it wasn't a major issue but I have moved the monitor and instead of being mounted to the wall its mounted to a desk and the built in mount is creating problems getting the angle right. Before I tear the monitor apart to remove this thing I would like to know if it's even possible to do so before having to go through the trouble of disassembling the thing and finding out it can't be taken off. I'd like to kick who ever designed this built in mount in the junk, before switching mounts the monitor would always fall backwards it was really irritating.
