How do I change my cursor on the computer?

How can I change the default cursor in windows 7?

  • I managed to make a cursor theme that remains intact when you restart and AFTER you log in. Now, on the log in screen, the cursor is still the default cursor. Does anyone know how to change this? I've tried replacing the default windows aero cursor. When I do this, it denies me access even though I am an administrator on my computer.

  • Answer:

I don't think Windows 7 supports custom cursors on your login screen, it's because the shell is not fully loaded until you actually log in and all *.cur files will only work with that shell. However, you can try to replace the default cursor icon. It should be stored in the imageres.dll file. I added a link with a list of all icons, check it to see if you can find the cursor icon. You will also learn how to change it on that site
