Im trying to hook up a perfect media center but need advice?

Trying to hook up an analog PCI TV Tuner to a converter box, help?

• I am trying to hook up the WinTV-PVR-150 to a converter box to get a signal, it's not working for some reason. When I go to the company's site to download the program from the original cd to install it asks me to insert the original cd which I don't have. Luckily they have standalone drivers. I installed the drivers and the computer recognizes it. The only program I know how to use to watch live TV is Windows Media Center. It recognizes the receiver and it shows the regular static for about 30 seconds before WMC complains that it needs to update PlayReady, it always fails, so I installed one off MSDN, but WMC still says it needs to update. So I have two questions, any programs besides WMC to watch live TV that are free? And Since I saw static apparently the converter isn't connected correctly or something, any suggestions? System info: Win 7 64 bit, Grabbed the receiver off an older computer, and figured i'd try to get it working since I don't need my converter for my TV.

  I had the same problem with a Hauppauge Win-Tv PVR usb2. I managed to get it hooked up with the AV cables, than ran the USB to my PC. The Hauppauge AV *red yellow white* cords coming from the TV need to be coming from the "output" part of it. On the back of the TV it will say "AV Out" or something. That's where the AV cables going to the Win-Tv go. Then from there it's straight forward.
