Can I take an AP exam if I am in College already?

Should I take the AP chem exam if I could use chemistry in my freshman year in college?

  • I plan on taking the OAT to get into opt school and a good refreshing in chemistry would be nice. Is there an option to still take chemistry in college even if you get a 4 or a 5 on the AP exam?

The tuition of a chemistry class is ridiculously high compared to just sending in your AP score. If you're worried you will get rusty, an OAT prep class or even a chemistry refresher would probably be cheaper than taking a chemistry college class, depending on where you plan on taking it. I would advise just taking the OAT prep class and saving some money. You're going to need it- Optometry school is expensive.
