What is the capacitance?

What is the capacitance of earth and ionosphere?

  • Different sources on the internet say stuff like 0.25 Farads or 1500uF but every formula I use to calculate it I get something way above 1 Farad so how is it possible they get such a low capacitance value?? What formula are they using and what possible dimensions could give you values in the milli or micro farad range?? Can someone please to a sample calculation of the capacitance of the earth and ionosphere? I would very much appreciate this. Thanks in advance.
