Is One Piece worth watching?

  • I have started watching One Piece and I am at episode 6. It's pretty funny but kind of childish and doesn't have all the much action. I'm wondering if it will be like this the rest of the 500+ episodes because if it is, I don't want to waste time watching the whole series. Is it worth watching?

    Don't worry it picks up. The beginning is like an old school anime, so you need to be patient. It gets better and better with each new arc. It is worth watching every episode.

i'm on episode 177, there's going to be a lot more action and apparently some of my friends have even said that it gets better than bleach. i agree it's sort of childish but in terms of action, there's going to be a lot more fights in later episodes. one thing i've learned from watching anime is that you gotta have patience. the up-side to one piece is there are less fillers in this anime than both bleach and naruto so you don't get frustrated. ( i guess it has to be worth watching since half of japan loves it).

Its a combination of comedy and action, but it gets much better as it goes on. If you're worried about spending time on hundreds of episodes, just read the manga, it'll be much quicker.

Yes it gets better later on once the main crew is assembled, and they head for the Grand Line. I felt the same way when I first watched the show and I didn't start to get into the show until Sanji's arc which starts at episode 20.
