What good paying job could I get if I major in Music?

How do DJs get their music legally?

• I am looking to start building a side job as a DJ. I am not looking to play in clubs or anything just weddings,birthday parties etc... I was wondering how these guys get their music legally. I guess what I'm asking is whether there are ways to get mass amounts of music without downloading individual songs or cds? I guess I always imagined that there would be companies that would sell music catalogs for like a few thousand dollars or something like that. I know about buying equipment and computer software and I am prepared for this cost. I am just trying to find out how I am going to build a decent music library without spending every waking hour in front of a computer screen searching for songs and paying like $3 for each individual song.

  Promo Only & Prime Cuts are 2 of the bigger companies to get music through to purchase and play music legally. You cannot use I Tunes to play music commercially. I would get lot's of education and training if you want to do weddings properly. Not as easy as you may think. Much more than just playing music.
