What are romantic things to do in Maui?

Have you been to Maui? How do I prepare? Also, what are the best things to do/see while there?

  • My boyfriend and I are going to Maui May 24th and staying for a week. We're staying near the Grand Wailea Resort in a Ho'olei townhome. I'm so excited! I'm also a bit of a nerd when it comes to packing. I have never been on a real vacation like this & just want to make sure I don't leave anything out... What do I need to pack for Maui? We're also planning on doing a little sight seeing. The small group that we're going with wants to go snorkeling and to see the Nakalele Blowhole. Are there any must see/must do things? All help/suggestions are appreciated :) Thank you!

    Packing for Hawaii is easy! Make sure to bring at least 2 swimsuits so while one is drying you have another one to wear. Bring a 2 or 3 pairs of shorts and tops and remember to bring at least one pair of long pants and a top or cover-up that has long sleeves in case you get sunburned. Bring one or two casual dresses in case you go out in the evening. Bring sunscreen and sunglasses or you can always buy it everywhere after you arrive. In addition to the things you listed that you are planning to see, I would recommend taking a trip up to the summit of the Haleakala volcano. If you really want to see something amazing, get up early and take watch a sunrise: http://www.squidoo.com/haleakala-sunrise-bike-trip The Maui Ocean Center is also great and go see the show at Warren and Annabelle's in Lahaina.

Pack a week's worth of tops, shorts, pajamas, flip-flops, sandals, a sundress, a light jacket, bathing suits, cover ups, a rash shirt, some shoes for the ocean, sunglasses, a hat, sunscreen, tennis shoes and toiletries. You should check out Lahaina, Kaanapali and Haleakala National Park. A luau would be fun to attend too.

Get a rental car as the island is huge. Not much nightlife there, but you'd be going to Oahu for that if that's what you wanted. One nice spot I remember was Seven Sacred Pools, but I was only there for two days for a wedding so there wasn't much I could do.

Hawaii is beautiful and I'm sorry I can't really help you with the sight seeing since I've only been to Waikiki, Oahu which is amazing for fun stuff to do and sight seeing. I would definitely recommend snorkeling though; the reefs are so pretty. As for packing, here's what you need: - Bring about 5 tops (preferably 3 short sleeves, 2 tank tops) - A thin cardigan (the nights are slightly chilly) - Bring 1-2 skirts for evening dinners or maybe a flowy skirt for the day - Bring about 4 pair of shorts (really nice weather there and it's pretty hot) - A pair of jeans (may be cold at night) - A sundress - A semi-formal dress (for nicer dinners) - 2-3 sets of pajamas - 2 bikinis - A bikini cover-up - A pair of flip flops (for the beach) and a pair of sandals (just to walk around the island in) - A pair of nicer shoes like wedges, heels, etc (for dinners) - If you need a pair of comfy shoes, bring those - Sunglasses - Sunscreen - Crossbody bag is more convenient but you can also bring your handbag - Any accessories you may want - Bathroom essentials That's about all I can think of. Make sure to bring something on the flight to keep you entertained. Have fun and enjoy yourself!(:
