Any easy ways to pack for a overseas trip?

Could anybody give me any advice on this trip?

• Basically, after college me and my mate are going on a back-packing trip across mainland Europe. The idea is to use the channel tunnel to get into France with one rucksack (back pack) each and make our way to Russia. I was wondering if anyone could give tips on some 'must see' places in Europe, or things we have to do. Also, any advice on ways to sleep would be nice! Our current plan is to sleep on trains/at train stations on our way.

  I advise against sleeping in open spaces. In Germany, maybe France, you'll escape with your stuff, but in the rest of the countries, you'll wake up with everything gone. There are many hostels all over that you can stay in. If you go from France, then you should go through Paris, then Switzerland. After that up to Germany or through Northern Italy. Then depending on how North you want to go, you go through the Czech Republic and Poland, or through Hungary. Touch on Ukraine (careful to stay away from Chernobyl area) and then to Russia. Make your plans based on if you'd rather see nature, or the cities. These areas are pretty nice, so you can't go wrong with either.
