Whats a good beginner longboard?

  • so this spring break i went to florida and just went cruising around with my cousins and i was riding on a madrid drop through. i really loved it and it felt real easy and smooth in handling. but im wondering what is a good board for me to start with. im 160 pounds and six foot. i live in michigan so a majority of it is pretty flat, but i have some nice big hills right outside my sub. i found a madrid that i really like on daddies board (http://www.daddiesboardshop.com/madrid-dream-longboard-complete.aspx) but im not sure if its the right board for me. if it is, then what should i get on it. this is about the max id like to spend

  • Answer:

Well, if you're have some decent sized hills around, you could look at a Scimitar from Kracked Skulls (krackedskulls.com) really low prices and right now if you use the code "coasters" on checkout, you save 5% ! Trust me, I have the Scimitar and it has the perfect amount of flex to liven up your ride on the flat while still being able to take on gnarly hills, also at 160 I'd suggest the double glass option to stiffen up the deck a little to get the best ride. Happy Boarding !
