I want to make a Joker Costume?

  • Okay, my friend's mother is having a costume party for her wedding reception. I thought it would be sort of cool to do a dark, almost gothic, female Joker. I have the make up. So I'm going put black make up on my eyes and a dark dark red to create the smile. I'm going to tease my hair (which is violet instead of green but I can't dye my hair green) and I just do not know what to wear. I am really tight on money and I want this costume to differ from the actual Joker attire. Any ideas as to what I can do and wear to make my own costume?

    For your hair, there are washable spray hair dyes. They only last until you take a shower. These can be bought at any party stores or at hair stores. After that you have two options to go with the Joker we all know. Purple blazer and green vest. I made my own joker costume on a rather low budget. I found at a thrift store a blazer type jacket that happened to be purple. Even though you are doing a different style of joker, I would suggest have a blazer/jacket. You can find ones for real cheep at the thrift store and bleach them dye them purple. Dye shouldn't be to expensive. I made a vest out of a tee shirt, but seeing as your are going as a more girl style joker, I would leave out the vest. Under the jacket wear a white blouse with some black dress pants or a purple/green poofy skirt. Or you could find a dark green dress instead. Try and find one with a really poofy almost tutu bottom. Black or purple tights underneath. If you want, they sell small top hats at icing and claires i think. They aren't to expensive and you could clip one in your hair. I have no clue when it comes to shoes. I wore my neighbors jazz shoes that he grew out of. Just find some nice shoes that match your outfit
