Any ideas on how to make a police woman costume?

I need to make a police woman costume within a fairly short space of time so any ideas would be great :)

Go to a charity shop and try and find the colour of a costume and get Mom to alter it the you will need a stripy band to put round the cap you can pick up a cheap one in a fancy dress shop ,go online a google a policewoman's uniform you don't have to be exact ok .
