How do i loose weight effectively?

My name is Corey and I am 18 years old. I currently weigh around 370 pounds. I'm a senior in high school and will be graduating next month and attending college in the fall. I want to loose weight to not only be healthy but also enjoy social aspects that I cannot now enjoy. I have a gym membership to the full facility gym next door to my house that starts tomorrow (may 1st). I eat semi healthy. I eat more than I should but I usually don't eat a lot of fatty foods or drinks. The majority of my weight was gained through steroids I took for around 3 months do to a surgery. I don't want to bulk up. I'm big enough. I want to loose weight and slim down to at least 240 pounds. I realize that this goal is a huge milestone and I may not reach but I want to try. What I planned on doing was a lot of cardio everyday. But I have no idea if that's the best way to loose the weight. Also I'm told that routines are good for loosing weight. How do I diet and work out efficiently? I appriciate all the help I can get. Thank you!!

i recently lost 30lbs, went form 185 to 155lbs (im only 5'3") what i dis was that i went on the Dukan diet, its not one of those dont eat anything diets or what not. Dr Dukan gives you a list of foods you can eat, and you can eat as much as you want of them, so theres definitely no starving involved, and its all diversified so you dont get bored by eating the same thing over and over so you stay on track.. it really teaches you about healthy eating and protects you for a yoyo effect (the weight coming back after you stop the diet) because you have 3 phases and in each he slowly let you eat other foods that you couldnt in the previous phase.. i mightve made it sound a bit complicated but its really not, if you go to his website dukandiet.com it will show you a purple box to "find your true weight" which will show you how long you have to be on the diet to lose the amount of weight you want to lose i know it says to buy his book, but theres a TON of websites online that actually give you all the information that youll find in the book i would give you the website bu the one i use is in Polish hope this helps at all, read about it maybe youll like it :)

You seem pretty serious about this soo... Try cardio big time. If you cant run, start with walking until you get to running, and go back and forth. All cardio will help burn calories. Also, say no to pop/ candies, these have a lot of fat/sugars whcih you dont need and try drinking a lot of water. Also, what ive tried and seemed to help is get some vitamin b100 pills, they are really cheap and raise your metabolism and turn carbs into energy. Dont starve yourself and just stick with it. I know i wasnt near your weight but I tried this and lost 30 ibs fairly quick. Good luck to you and just stick with it... try your hardest and accomplish the most.

Dude congrats on the motivation and the decision to get yourself healthy! I really hope you get there. But it's going to take a lot of work and a lot of time. I would say about 2 years. Yea it sucks to think about that now but down the road when you hit your goal you're going to really be proud of yourself. 1.So find how many calories it takes to keep you at your current rate. You probably have a good idea of what this is. 2. Start a weight training program. There's a lot of good ones on bodybuilding.com. They'll really help you out there. 3. Cut 500 cal from your daily diet. This will give you a healthy weight lose of 1 pound per week. 4 Clean up your diet. Healthy food actually makes you feel fuller longer. Good luck man. You can do it!
