What are the requirements to enroll in a community college?

  • I'm nearing the end of my senior year of high school and am trying to find requirements to be enrolled in a community college, specifically Gateway Community College in New Haven, CT. For example, I don't know if I need any letters of recommendation to send in with the application...anyone who has successfully gone through the college process (for community colleges) can you help me out?

There are no requirements. They accept anyone who's going there, no matter what your grades are. It's not like a university or an Ivy league. I've been to Naugatuck community in CT, but in my city though. I got accepted and I wasn't told about requirements.

Community colleges do not normally require letters of recommendation. They require you to fill out their application form, and have your HS transcripts sent to them. If you took the SAT, send that to them as well, although the SAT is not required. That's pretty much all you need to apply to most ccs.
