Why do people still believe in god?

• Its pretty obvious that god is not real. all the disasters, everything that happened, I know that it feels good to know that there is someone up there, thats there for you, loves you and has a plan for you. but living like that forever is not the way to live... I used to believe in god. but when i was 9 i questioned, Mostly because i just realized how many bad things happened to me and the people around me, my dad died when my mom was pregnant with me, my grandad died when i was 6, my god father died (who was like my dad for me) was shot when i was 4, and many other tragic things, and why didnt the all loving, all forgiving, lifegiving god prevent that? why? why do children lose their parents, why do millions starve to death, WHY is there war? when there is someone who can prevent that, someone that created that.I for one know that my mom believes in god because she has to work so hard, she believes that praying helps, she wants it to help, so she believes. My grandma, she believes because she was born just after world war II, my great grandparents where poor, thats why they prayed. I really wish that god was real, dont you think it would be amazing? someone you can talk to, someone who can help you. But lets be honest, completely, How many times have you prayed? and how many of thoughs times did it help? 1 or 2 might say some miracle happened, but thats just a coincidence,its a coincidence because whenever you do pray for something to stop, and it doesn't, you just say its just part of gods plan, If i had the logic of christians, i could prove to you anything exists, take, Santa claus, prove to me that he doesnt exist (I.e giving out presents to good people, i know that St Nicholas was 'santa claus', but i mean him being alive now, still giving out presents). you could say there has not been sightings of flying sledges, with christian logic i would say that he hypnotizes people to sleep when they see him and wipes their memory, you could say that parents have said themselves that they have been the ones to give presents to kids, not santa claus, i would say santa works in mysterious ways, its impossible to disporve santa claus existing and giving out presents to good kids, you cant. whatever you say, i can counter it. with christian logic. christians say that if no one believed in god we would not know the difference between right or wrong, we could do anything because no one was scared to be punished by god, but to be honest, you can just kill someone right now, murder them in cold blood, and when your arrested pray to god for forgiveness, god is all forgiving so your not going to hell... rinse and repeat. therefore that argument is invalid... and to be honest if god was real i dont think he would give 2 s***'s about weather you believe in him or not, And if he does, if he sends you to perish in thou internet fireth or whatever for not believing in him, then he doesnt sound as nice as you think...

  No matter what you guys think or feel......... It does Not change the fact that God is real, you guys just choose not believe. Why do you pretend just say that and get it over with. Eventually in time all will come to know the truth, my fear is at that point it might just be too late. And by the way, Atheists are not my enemy. Atheists are captives to the lies of the world, the devil and the flesh. Nor do Atheists need my forgiveness, for I cannot grant them eternal life, only Jesus Christ can grant them eternal life.
