Do you think that those who say hell exists are forcing their beliefs down your throat?
-
First, CALM DOWN. The separation of church and state exists in America. Second, as a Christian who has had the spiritual shackles of the tempter and liar named Satan taken off of my feet. I feel so much guilt of the past. And even guilt in the future because I know I cannot have the energy to tell everyone. I think of non-believers I have come across in my lifetime. You want to know what a person like me feels deep in their heart for a stranger they don't even know or just a mere acquaintance? I feel pain, because I hear those people I apathetically shared the word of God with rueing my existence as they suffer eternity in hell. God gives you free will to reject the words we write. But do not be so inconsiderate of someone else's beliefs to insist that we are shoving something down your throat. Whether you recognize it or not, when you think those thoughts, it is the work of Satan and his lies and deceit. For words are not shoved down anyone's throat. And words on a computer screen cannot even be shoved down a persons ears.

Answer:
You are correct. Christians are not supposed to "harass" anyone. But we do try to share the most important message that anyone can ever hear. Everlasting life (immortality)... What if you won the lottery and wanted to share this "good news" with others. If they said, "keep your money" then we should not harass them to take the money. First of all - there is such a thing as perfect justice. Are you against justice? Do you think murders and rapists and child abusers should be off free and clear? Is that not just plain wrong? And a hopeless concept (no justice ever)? Second, I believe you completely misunderstand the biblical concept of heaven and hell (as I once did). God is just, but not cruel... Unsaved people will suffer just as much as required for justice (no more / no less) and then be destroyed (annihilated) as Jesus tells us. (see Matthew 10:28) God is Just and Jesus clearly teaches that souls can and will be destroyed. (That is Justice). Think of it like this - God is good and gives us life in this world only (better than nothing!) Yet - He cannot allow sin to enter into the next world (or it will become war torn like this). So He only gives us this life to live in - unless we get everlasting life! Therefore - we need to have longer (everlasting) Life - or we will only get to live in this world! That is why Jesus says He came to bring us LIFE! (John 10:10) Does not God (who gave us a soul) have the right to extinguish it? ("Perish" in John 3:16 means "destroyed.") Then the real world begins! The unsaved are no longer alive, but have a second death (Revelation 20:14). Believers gain “everlasting life” (i.e. immortality) ( 2 Timothy 1:10). All others are annihilated (destroyed). In the real world (coming) imagine a world where everyone does right (since they follow God in this world and choose to do right now). A world where all do right! And everything awesome about this world is just the absolute basic of the next. Wow! And everyone there will get “everlasting life” (both biological immortality and spiritual life - the one that makes you go “Wow” inside). Imagine the greatest “WOW” moment in life and multiply that by 100. That is the goodness waiting the “saved” by the One who made the heart to go “Wow” now. And He knows what makes us go “WOW” - (Ever look at the majesty of nature??) And do you know what Steve Jobs last words were on his death bed? "Oh, wow, Oh wow, Oh wow….." and then he died. (TRUE – Google it!). And I am not saying he was a believer at all, but he did see something more.... Don't you want to live in that setting? That is exactly what is called "the gospel"! Good news. Plan B is coming. ONLY Jesus gives everlasting life to the human soul. That is the gospel. All the rest only get to live in this world. And God is good even to allow that much living!! 1 Corinthians 2:9 “None of the rulers of this age understood it, for if they had, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory. However, as it is written: "No eye has seen, no ear has heard, no mind has conceived what God has prepared for those who love him" -- Who would want to mess up the "interview" now for a time like that? So to summarize: God is good to allow all people to live in this world. (Part 1) Only those whom He can trust with the important gift of "immortality" gain everlasting life. (Part 2) (John 3:16). As the late Keith Green once said... This world is like living in a garbage can compared to then!

I have cried for people I know who aren't saved. But, I still pray for them and for God to make a way to show them that's he's real. I pray that they come to accept Jesus as their personal savior. Beyond that, it's out of my hands. I try not to dwell on it too much. There is free will and God is in control.
Very sincere appeal. God bless you.

There IS NO separation of Church and State in America. THAT is a myth perpetrated by the American Atheist. talk about using mythology to control the public! The ACLU actually litigates, attempting to PROVE the separation exists, when it does not. Our constitution state that: "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; . . . " To SEPARATE religion and government would be to violate this principle, as it would prevent the "free exercise thereof" of any individual's willingness to do as his or her "god" commands, and take active part in the well-defined process of law in the United States. Neither can ;laws be made to prohibit the use of religion in the process of law in the United Sates, as this WOULD favor the religion of Atheism. Understand that "religion" DOES NOT require an adherence to the principle of any deity. Religion is, in fact, a set or thoughts and moral processes by which we each,. as individuals, respond to the daily problems of living our lives. Some people think that smoking is bad; others do not. Some people thinks that stealing money from a bank is bad; others do not. Some people think that abortion is bad; others do not. Regardless of ones personal choices, EACH PERSON has a set of moral and ethical values that THEY use, as individuals, to respond to the problems and questions that they face each day. The argument is not that we each have moral and ethical values (although the Atheists would like you NOT to believe that, since it proves that atheism IS A RELIGION). The argument is about the SOURCE of those value. The Christian and Jew believe it to be Jehovah. The Muslim believes it to be Allah. And the atheist believes it to be himself! The purpose of our governmental process is to provide EACH of those a say in the generation and enforcement of law through the process of REPRESENTATION. We use the ability to VOTE ( unless otherwise taken away, as in the case of a convicted felon) for people who we believe will best represent our interests in governmental meeting and the development of civil law. You have a RESPONSIBILITY to vote; those who fail to meet that responsibility need to stop complaining when they don;t get their way. Even for the individuals elected to office, their constituents have a right to contact that representative on a personal basis to make our individual wishes know. You do not have a right to control that representative through coercion or bribery, but you CAN make your voice heard. Thus, through a controlled and fair election process, people JUST LIKE US are elected to form the laws that control ALL of us. To eliminate the religious bias of those representative is illegal through the statements of the First Amendment of the Constitution of the United States. THERE IS NO SEPARATION OF CHURCH AND STATE STATED OR IMPLIED! Adn religious viewpoints can and MUST be presented through the law making process as defined by the Constitution of the United States.

You are free to do so, but just don't be too surprised when the people you are trying to "spread the joy of your deity" (through fear and threat) to, have an opinion on your beliefs you so valiantly try to claim as the truth.
It's your truth, you prove it.

How so? You are free to believe what you want. And so am I I believe in Heaven and Hell - how am I forcing you to believe the same?
Jesus is my Savior
The pain results from thinking it might be true. God would never do it, though. We do it to ourselves..out of guilt.
Hope is certainty
Atheist here- technically all atheist believe in hell. Hell came from Sheol, the Hebrew myth of the house of the dead, which was like an oblivion- eternal unconsciousness, forever a dreamless sleep. It was confused with Hades, the river styx, a concepts of purgatory soon came about. Jesus came to save people from "death." Lamins terms- Jesus came to save people from "death"- as in, when you die and go to heaven, you didn't die, you rose from the dead, he saved you from death. Those that die with the dead- hell. The termination of the soul. The ancient Hebrews were a highly metaphorical idiomatic people (don't even tell me you believe in Noah's Arc. Jeez Louise even the Catholics accept evolution (*_*)- fire was used to be symbolic of destruction. So your soul burning- destruction of the soul. All atheist pretty much believe it ends. Death as we know it is just thought of as eternal punishment because that is when being compared to an everlasting paradise. Dante's Inferno was used in Medieval days partly for entertainment, but mostly to scare people into getting their acts together on Earth. Jehovah Witnesses have corrected the concept and mistranslation, though through their own interpretation believe all who go to Sheol (only 144,000 go to heaven after first life) all who go to Sheol will one day be given a second chance on Earth, everybody gradually being resurrected during a 1000 year reign of Jesus on Earth with no Satan to tempt them. Mormons on the other hand, Latter Day Saints, as they are properly called, with the addition of the Book Of Mormon, call hell being separated from God, where only Satan and the fallen angels and the worse of the worse of the worse go. Everybody else goes to heaven- however there would be different levels of heaven. Murderers and what not go to an Earthly heaven, Saints go to some transcendental heaven I guess. People who were lost on Earth, so the religious who felt godless, atheist (including Richard Dawkins) will go to some place (look it up) where they will stay until they accept the revelation, and then go to one of the levels of heaven. Think of it like a classroom, where everybody on Earth who either flunked life, dropped out of life, whatever have to take make up classes. Christian Scientist, with a capital S, the religion, not to be confused with Scientology (who knows?) or Christians who are scientist, all go to heaven! Mary Baker Eddy, while she taught that you can pretty much pray for anything (but only if you truly really really really believe), taught that evil is an allusion (and it is, like cold is to heat, evil is to lack of good), Satan is also an allusion, and the afterlife is thought of as another realm of consciousness. So, I hoped I enlightened you. God knows where I'm going to end up, if he exist. A gay atheist (yikes). Stay strong <3 <3

I agree. As a Christian, my instinct and basic satisfaction in life is to help all of God's creatures. I won't go into detail but, will keep with the topic of the question. In the Yahoo! Answers format, I interpret this site to be of those who need advice or help in finding their way through life and seeking to stay out of trouble to do so. My goal is to help give people the answers to questions that have worked for me. When a person comes to this site as a medium to spout their disgust of the Christian faith or it's followers then, they are the ones who are using this site inappropriately. Evil corrodes and defiles all things, even well intentioned websites like this one. My advice to you is to not let them use their lies and abusive words to penetrate the truth that you know you are just and right with God. Their evils have no power of Jesus therefore, they have no power over you because you are with Christ. :)
